ABOUT MAVIS PITTILLA AND HER LEGACY

 

Mavis Pittilla was a luminary in the world of spiritualism and mediumship and left an indelible mark on the field of spiritual communication.

Born in the UK, she found herself grappling with a life-threatening condition and was given only months to live at the age of 27. During this uncertain time, the spirit world revealed itself to her. A man appeared in her living room urging her to “go find a healer,” his message as enigmatic as his presence. The encounter was so vivid and undeniably real that Mavis questioned her sanity.

It was an experience that would’ve shaken anyone to their core — for Mavis, it was only the beginning. The encounter opened a door for her — one she couldn’t close, even if she wanted to. The spirit world became her ever-present reality.

It was as if the trauma of her diagnosis had punched a hole in the fabric of her reality, creating a portal to the spirit world.

In retrospect, it’s clear this profound disruption in Mavis’ life was a catalyst. It marked the start of her transformative journey, one that led her not only to healing herself, but also to her lifelong mission of serving as a bridge between the physical world and the spirit realm.

Ever after, she provided countless sittings, group sessions, lectures, and classes. Perhaps one of her most significant contributions was at the esteemed Arthur Findlay College, where she served as senior tutor and a beacon of light for many years.

Alongside Jean, Mavis dedicated the rest of her life to training many new mediums. Their shared vision was to guide students to become the “whole medium,” as opposed to teaching them only the mechanics of mediumship.

Each student’s unique life experiences, external influences, and physical and spiritual natures were taken into account as they were individually mentored .

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The 12-month program is structured a bit like academic quarters: three months of classes and Mentorship Circles, one month of work on your own. Then three more months of classes and Mentorship Circles, one month of work on your own. After your final three months of classes and Mentorship Circles, you’ll spend your last month reflecting on and synthesizing all you’ve learned.

During each 3-month-long unit, you’ll attend two online meetings each week: a 90-minute Theory Class Session taught by Jean or a monthly Master Practitioner Session with Suzanne… and a Mentorship Circle with a maximum of 15 fellow students led by a Mavis Pittilla-authorized teacher.

Every three months — after a unit concludes — you’ll break away from meetings to concentrate for a month on your own, in a guided practicum or final review, reflection, and assessment.

    Each month you have classes, one of your weekly sessions will be with Suzanne, featuring her reflections and insights on your monthly teachings, mentorship, and Q&A. World-renowned medium Suzanne Giesemann’s evidence-based approach to mediumship — the process of discovering details only the sitter could know during readings— has been tested and verified. and in your nine monthly sessions with her, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn from and be mentored directly by Suzanne. Each session includes 90 minutes of teaching and Q&A, and you’ll have access to recorded sessions anytime.

    Four 90-Minute Mentorship Circles Per Month WIth Mavis Pittilla-Authorized Teachers (36 Total)

    Mentorship Circles meet each week you have classes, and include an opportunity to have your questions answered by a Mavis Pittilla-authorized mentor. You’ll have access to your group’s recordings to review and use as valuable feedback. Circles will be scheduled in a wide-range of days and times to accommodate varying time zones, levels of experience, and availability.

  • Video Recordings of Class Sessions

    After each online class, including Suzanne’s Master Practitioner sessions, digital video will be available for you to stream in a high-quality format. You’ll never have to worry about missing a session, and you can watch them anytime at your convenience.

    Each Mentorship Circle session will be recorded and distributed to individual circle members only, to provide a safe container and maintain confidentiality. Unit 1: Understanding Yourself, the Spirit World & Ethical Mediumship

 

In this unit, you’ll explore:

  • Mavis Pittilla’s holistic approach to evidential mediumship training that focuses on fostering the whole medium, not just the mechanical medium, so you can become a professional, authentic spiritual medium

April Practicum Month for Psychic Exercises

 

Your training throughout this month involves an interactive blend of Mentorship Circles and insightful reflection periods. You’ll begin to conduct readings for new people, stimulating your growth and development as a medium. You’ll also participate in 8-10 practice sessions with other students from another Pod, each offering a unique opportunity to expand your experiences and strengthen your skills. Post-session, you’ll reflect on and conduct a thoughtful analysis of your experiences, using specially designed analysis sheets to record and evaluate your progress, which you’ll submit to your teacher for feedback. Complementing your practical training, we’ll provide you with a curated reading list for deeper understanding of psychic experiences. Your analysis of these books will be discussed in May.

Part II: Exploring the Spirit World & the Ethics of Communication

Unit 4: Uncovering Death’s Mysteries to Enhance Life’s Journey

 

In this unit, you’ll:

  • Receive a complete awareness of what happens when the body dies and the soul and spirit move on, as well as how to develop effective communication
  • Explore the realization that we are still real people when we die, and we retain our personalities and experiences
  • Begin to understand that grief occurs in both worlds, and that there is a need for healing in the two
  • Develop an understanding of what happens as we move between the worlds within worlds
  • Understand what those in the spirit world need from the medium to allow them to communicate effectively
  • Realize the importance of allowing the spirit world to speak directly to their loved ones
  • Learn how to control your mind so that you don’t interfere with the communication

  • Receive insights into the highest level of ethical and moral approaches to mediumship practice

  • Acquire strategies to communicate with guides and inspirers in a clear and actionable way
  • Develop skills in analyzing mediumistic communication
  • Understand the importance of private sittings to both worlds, when done correctly
  • Develop your capacity to provide real evidence for sitters, key for creating transformative impact

  • Begin to explore inspirational concepts in spiritual work
  • Understand the impact of inspiration on the lives of recipients, congregations, and audiences
  • Begin to develop your own version of inspirational writing and talks
  • Honor the ways that we stand on the shoulders of giants
  • Understand your heritage and role in moving mediumship forward
  • Differentiate between mediumship and spiritualism

  • Achieve an awareness of the range of elements required to deliver mediumship effectively, and with panache
  • Become aware of the language used to deliver mediumship, and its impact on the recipient and the person in spirit
  • Examine different styles of mediumship and analyze the merits of each

  • Reflect upon your knowledge and understanding of the spirit world and their needs, as they are your partners on this journey
  • Communicate with your guides and inspirers to receive insights into the future
  • Reflect upon your experience of journaling and the impact on your development
  • Reflect upon the additional input/time/activity you have applied during the year to enhance your delivery, understanding, and learning

Q: What are the program details and schedule for the training program?

 

A: All sessions will be held online through Zoom. There will be no in-person engagement.

The training program starts on January 9, 2024, and ends on December 3, 2024.

Class Sessions: 90 minutes per week on Tuesdays at 9:00am Pacific/5:00pm UK, most weeks of the year. Students may attend live on Zoom or access the recording soon after. Students are expected to attend all class sessions or access the recordings during the same week of the live teaching.

Practical Application Mentorship Circle Sessions: 90 minutes per week at various days and times most weeks of the year. You’ll choose one group for the full year and meet at the same day and time with your teacher each week. Students are expected to attend live practice as accessing the recording cannot replace the live mentorship experience. However, recordings of your mentorship circle will be available for you to review.

Q: If I participate, how many hours per month should I plan to dedicate to this training program?

 

A: This will vary, depending on whether you choose to attend all offerings or the minimum requirement, but on average, you can expect to spend approximately 15-24 hours per month on this program.
